The Project of all Projects

Since May I have been busy with some stuff at work and with our coordination business. I always talk about trips, relaxing and the business. Rarely did I write about work. Me and some office mates initiated a project, a Six Sigma Project. I am not about to share what the project is since I am bound by confidentiality booboo.

As Wikipedia defined it,

Six Sigma seeks to improve the quality of process outputs by identifying and removing the causes of defects (errors) and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes. It uses a set of quality management methods, including statistical methods, and creates a special infrastructure of people within the organization ("Black Belts", "Green Belts", etc.) who are experts in these methods. Each Six Sigma project carried out within an organization follows a defined sequence of steps and has quantified financial targets (cost reduction and/or profit increase).

I first encountered six sigma when I had my class about it at UP Solair. It was a boring boring subject. The class ended with a high note though when me and my classmates have to initiate a project and it was fun. Yeah I know it's weird, such geeky-ness... I love learning and the challenge of creating a paper from something I don't know is somewhat exciting to me. Had a good grade on that subject and learned a lot. From that learning, I am now applying at work. I just really hope I finish the project on time! Good thing, August is a dead month for weddings! I can focus my time and energy on this.

Training.. Training .. Training

For several days for two months, we have to undergo training for a process of our team. The whole training was soooooooo boring.... It was almost like having us undergo confinement with a monotonous recording go on and on.

So for most part of it, we have to find ways to entertain ourselves. Like taking pictures:

lomo effect!

pretend to be listening

doodle... doodle... doodle...

The freaking test..

In the end, I passed the exam with so much drama!

--- June wedding --

The wedding that we had last June 25, 2011 almost coincided with the wrath of Falcon. The days before the wedding, Falcon was busy tormenting the residents of Manila with his strong winds and non-stop rain. Areas were flooded and a so-called hurricane passed through the New Manila area. Our couple did not let Falcon ruin their day. Prayers and faith provided them sunlight as the mid morning came and the wedding is good to go!

The suppliers were there early as well. The photo-video team and the hair and make up artists and us were all set to start. It was a good day. God is really good. We were able to surpass all the challenges that came that day. The set up was great. The people were happy. It rained in the later part of the day but it was just a drizzle of raindrops. It was like God was just blessing the couple on their new journey together as husband and wife.

Working with the couple is really awesome. I will surely missing chatting with our lovely bride but then we can still chat as friends. Hehehe.. That is how the relationship of client-supplier should be... Friendship will bloom... Good words ... Good vibes... I know it will be the same with the next clients that we have lined up.

--- "The Spa" Moment ---

I received a gift certification for a deluxe massage at "The Spa" from a friend. I got it last February and I was only able to use it last June. I had an earlier meeting with a bride client and arriving early at Eastwood for work. I do not know what to do that for the next four hours before my shift starts. I remembered I had the GC and went to check out the branch that they have inside the Richmonde Eastwood Hotel. I was told that I have to pay around P700 pesos and they have a slot available for me to avail the message. Hmmm.. 700 pesos.. pricey but I really need the massage right now and I don't want to go to the Acropolis branch since I have to take the overpass or taxi. So I took the bait! Paid 700 pesos! Decided to get the room with the steam bath instead of the jacuzzi! Just to be different!

It was peaceful.. Quiet.. Tranquil.. Hayyyy.. Everything smelled good. Yes I am keen to scent! The room was also great. Dimly lit and smelled fresh and calming. The person who took me to my room brought ginger tea and it was divine! She told me that I can have my steam bath since she set it already and I just have to press a button when I want to have my massage. So off to the steam bath.. it was nice! It has been a long time since I had been a sauna. It was relaxing. It was a good cleansing experience. I think I was there for about 30 minutes and rinsed off with a cold shower. I felt my open pores closing. Dried off and had my massage. It was heavenly!!! All my aches were gone! I was so relax.. I almost left asleep.

I sooo love this experience that I don't mind doing it again. I might have it in another spa joint since The Spa is quite pricey for me but I don't mind Xtian treating me here! Hehehehe...

Loving Greenwich!

My family has always been pizza lovers. I remembered when my mom was pregnant with our youngest sister, she would have pizza and pizza and lots of pizza. We tried and ate at all the pizza restaurants in Jeddah to take care of her cravings. One time, we had Greenwich delivered at home and since then we have been craving for it.

Greenwich changed the way that they do their crust. It is no longer like the regular crusts that they share with the other pizza joints. Their crust now is way better and tastier. One day after my dad's weekly check up, we ended up at SM Centerpoint and eating lunch where else but at Greenwich!

mommy all smiles with her pizza slice

if bars have their beer tower, Greenwich has the Coke tower! Just 30 pesos for every order! Nice right?

all ok with the coke tower!

Found a new love!

One night me and hubby decided to have a drinking spree. I ended up buying the new San Miguel Beer with flavoring. I got the lemon flavor. Hmmm... something different.. something new. I was hoping that it was worth trying for.

When I opened it, I took a sniff.. it smelled like regular beer.. Hmm.. no lemony scent! I placed it inside a mug filled with ice and tasted it.. yummy.. hehehe.. finished the whole bottle right away. New love... I heard the apple flavor is good too.. Now all I have to do is look for it! hehehehe!

not a big fan of san mig light.. this is a good alternative

lemon flavor.. yummy

iced cold beer.. perfect to cap off the night!

My College baby buddy Gets Hitched!

When I was with the student council of CSSP, we handled one freshman block to take care of. We got one Psychology block and each officer was assigned a buddy. Ms. R is the one assigned to me. She was quiet, so polite and totally an opposite of me. I knew that it will be a challenged since we are opposite. But then again, first impressions don't last. We share a lot of things in common - like reading books and eating! Hahaha.. I am on the bad side of that common things since I gain the weight, she doesn't.

We shared a lot of experiences and we made sure that we kept in touch through the years. She stood as my maid of honor during our wedding. Now it is her time to tie the knot and start a new life with her Mr. R. I was actually flattered when she asked me to be one of her bridesmaids. The last time that I was part of a wedding entourage was when I was in grade 4. I remembered nibbling on carrots and celery sticks and drinking Carnation non-fat milk for weeks so I could fit in my gown. Hahahaha... Anyways back to Ms. R's wedding... I was just happy for her.

The day went well with a few rain showers... They said that rain brings good luck... "Shower" of blessings for the newlyweds. The ceremony was solemn as I expected it to be and short. The reception was held at C3 Events Place in Greenhills. The place was fabulous and super chic. The food was good also specially the paella.. hahaha... But of course, the couple was all smiles and it was good to have that feeling that someone you knew.. grew up and became a fine lady.

Hubby's BFF's Wedding

05.05.2011 --- Since I started an events company with my co-w@wies, I took charge in coordinating the wedding of hubby's bff! It was a simple gathering. The church was at the Sacred Heart Parish at Kamuning, Quezon City and the reception was held at Jade Valley at QC as well. I have my friends, Jan & Mean to help me out. It was small and it was intimate and it ended well even though we were not expecting too much guests.

Mama stood as ninang to the couple

hmmm.. ayaw talaga mag smile ha!

bearer din po sya!

Feeling like a girl!

With an upcoming photo shoot, I went to make up artist EJ Litiatco to fix me up. Here is the end product... I love my curly locks!

--- Our First Anniversary ---

For our first anniversary, we did not plan anything big. I am too busy at work and Xtian does not want to go anywhere. So to mark it as a special day, we went out with my family. My dad has not been to the mall after his diagnosis. We were off early. Both me and Xtian came from our respective shifts. We decided to go to Trinoma. It was almost lunch time when we arrived at the mall. We rented a wheelchair for daddy so it will be easier to move around. Too bad Trinoma does not provide one for their customers... the rent is steep! 75 pesos per hour! We wanted to eat somewhere we haven't tried before. My sister insisted on eating at a Japanese resto but I know Xtian is not a big fan of Japanese food unless it involves ramen or sukiyaki. Good thing, we passed by Cyma.

Let's have the pictures do the talking, shall we...

My sister took this picture of the menu.. Hmmm.. what to eat!

Since I was starving, I asked the waiter to recommend a salad. She recommended the Roka Salad. See mama getting ready to attack it!

Mommy talking to Andie at the phone.. She is based in Iloilo.. So we just called her.

Now mama attacked it... Pinipili ang walnuts.. huy!

It has been a long time since we had a family day like this... Eating out plus shopping and ending with grocery shopping. I love grocery shopping more than shopping shopping... hehehe.. I always think of the what to prepare for the coming weeks. Stocking on the essentials is fun as well.
